LeRoy Hutson, son of the late Roy and Maude (Arnold) Hutson, was born December 1, 1929, in Hartville, Missouri. He was one of eight children. LeRoy departed this life January 30, 2023, in Mountain Grove, Missouri, at the age of 93.
LeRoy grew up in Wright County and joined the United States Army in 1952. While serving, LeRoy earned the Korean Service Medal, National Defense Medal, and United Service Medal. He was honorably discharged in 1954.
LeRoy was united in marriage to Anna Mae Sigman on November 25, 1959, in Mountain Grove, Missouri. LeRoy worked as a carpenter, building and remodeling homes. He painted many properties over the years. He was a man of his word and a reliable worker. In his spare time, LeRoy enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially when fishing. LeRoy was also known to be a great storyteller. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
LeRoy was saved and baptized in 1983 and attended the Southside Baptist Church of Mountain Grove.
Besides his parents, LeRoy was preceded in death by two sons, Samuel and David Lee Hutson, and one granddaughter, Miranda (Hutson) Deaton, two brothers, Troy and Donald, and five sisters, Maxine, Nellie, Betty, Sylvia, and Goldie.
LeRoy is survived by his wife, Anna Mae Hutson, three sons, Ronnie Hutson, Larry Hutson and wife, Tonya, and George Lee Hutson, five daughters, Diana Good and husband, Michael, Barbara Litty and husband, Jim, Gloria Romines and husband, Roger, Debbie Carter and husband, Ronnie, and Teresa James and husband, Allen, twenty-seven grandchildren, forty-nine great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
