Edgar “Leroy” Hicks, son of the late Delmer Joel and Mary Ann (Reser) Hicks, was born May 15, 1942, at his parent’s home in Macomb, Missouri, and departed this life September 9, 2020, at his home in Manes, Missouri, surrounded by his family. He was 78 years, 3 months, and 28 days of age.
Leroy was united in marriage to Delores Alumbaugh on March 27, 1959, in Mountain Grove, Missouri. Four children were born to this union: Sam, Randy, Tina, and Sandi.
Leroy worked on heavy machinery. He enjoyed fishing, building projects, and tinkering on automobiles. He had a great passion for drag racing. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and friends.
Leroy was saved and baptized and faithfully attended Lighthouse Pentecostal Church of Mountain Grove where he served as Deacon for many years.
Besides his parents, Leroy was preceded in death by one son, Sam Hicks, one daughter, Tina Hicks, one brother, Lonnie Hicks, and one sister, Lela Ellis.
Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Delores Hicks, one son, Randy Lynn Hicks and wife, Cathy, of Manes, Missouri, one daughter, Sandi Barnes and husband, Joe, of Cabool, Missouri, grandchildren, Mandy Ellis and husband, Dustin, of Graff, Missouri, Bethany Hicks and Kevin, of Elkton, Tennessee, Kimberly Noel and husband, Justin, of Salem, Missouri, Joel Hicks and Lindsey of Elkton, Tennessee, Rachel Danielle Emery and husband, RJ, of Green Mountain, Missouri, Rachel Elaine Hicks of Bolivar, Missouri, Hali Jo Evans of Cabool, Missouri, Jonie Barnes of Cabool, Missouri, Chase Barnes and wife, Lisa, of Cabool, Missouri, great-grandchildren, Trenton Noel, Haylena Emery, Lane Hicks, Brooklyn Evans, Wyatt Barnes, Jaxen Hicks, Tucker Hicks, Jaben Hicks, Kylan Barnes, Brayden Emery, Kenan Barnes, Phoebe Barnes, Imber Barnes, Jacob Ellis, Watson Evans, Walker Ellis, and Noah Ellis, four brothers, Lowell Hicks of Mountain Grove, Loren Hicks of Houston, Missouri, Lyle Hicks of Texas, Leslie Hicks of Lebanon, Missouri, one sister, Lena Rogers, and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him greatly.
