Lena Nora Mullins Anderson, daughter of Jim and Sarah Wheeler, was born on May 15, 1912 near Willow Springs, MO and passed away on January 26, 2009 in the Rocky Ridge Manor in Mansfield, MO. She was 96 years of age.
She married Ray Mullins and to this union two daughters, Evelyn and Maxine, were born. After Mr. Mullin’s death she later married Jake Anderson who also preceded her in death.
Lena loved gardening, canning and sharing her cooking talents with her family. She also enjoyed fishing, and spending time with her family and visiting with her friends. She really looked forward to big family gatherings and for many years prepared lunch every Sunday after church for her family. It didn’t matter how many showed up she always had plenty to eat for everyone.
She loved church and was a member of the Mountain Grove Church of Christ. She was a very caring and giving mother, grandmother and friend.
Lena was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Sarah Wheeler of Willow Springs; her brother, Bob Wheeler of Norwood; her sister, Eulah Mullins of Parma, Idaho; her daughter, Maxine Ellsworth of Norwood; and her grandson, Max Anderson of Davenport, Iowa.
She is survived by her daughter, Evelyn Anderson and her husband, Norman, of Norwood, MO; four grandchildren, Steve Anderson and his wife, Sandy, of Norwood, MO; Larry Anderson and his wife, Carol, of Mansfield, MO; Sandy Peterson and her husband, Steve, of Mtn. Grove, MO; and Mike Roy and his wife, Patty, of Branson, MO; nine great-grandchildren, Matt Anderson and his wife, Stephanie; Niki Edwards and her husband, Tony; Jeremiah Peterson and his wife, Shannon; Donny Anderson; Brandi MacDougall and her husband, Evan; Luke Anderson and his wife, Angie; Andy Peterson and his wife, Katie; Joey Peterson and Megan Roy and six great-great grandchildren, Gracie Anderson, Samantha Peterson, Brady Anderson, Sophee Peterson, Kelby Goetz and Kelsy Goetz; one brother, Ed Wheeler and his wife, Delphia, West Plains; two nieces; Jan Sukow and her husband, Dale, of West Plains, MO and Kim Wiley, West Plains; and one nephew, Frankie Mullins and his wife, Lila, of Parma, Idaho, other relatives and friends who will miss her.

Saturday, January 31st, 11:00 AM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel.
Visitation:
Friday, January 30, 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
