Lee Troy Oliphant

September 11, 1934 — April 7, 2022

Lee Troy Oliphant was born September 11, 1934, in Manes, Missouri, to the late Roy Ewen and Elsie (Lathrom) Oliphant. He passed from this life on April 7, 2022, at Hartville, Missouri, following an extended illness. He was 87 years, 6 months, and 16 days of age.

Lee attended Perkins School for eight years. After school he helped on the family farm until the age of 17, when he got a job in Wichita, Kansas.

He was united in marriage to Mary “Edna” Ratterree on May 16, 1953. To this union two sons and one daughter were born, Randy, Dallas, and Vicky. After Randy was born, Lee quit working in Kansas. He and Edna had bought a dairy farm. Besides farming, he did various other jobs such as working at Zenith, construction, and running a road grader over dirt roads in the area. He was active in the community and served on the Manes School board, the Township board, a milk producers board, and the Green Mountain Cemetery board.

Lee and Edna divorced in 1990. After a few years apart, they started spending time together again. This made the holidays and family events easier. They kept their bond to each other until the end.

Lee accepted Christ as his Savior and was a member of Hopewell Free Will Baptist church. He faithfully attended as long as he was physically able.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Junior Oliphant and Bobby Oliphant, both who died at birth, sisters in-law, Sandy Ratterree, Joy Ratterree, Dottie Ratterree, and Delores Turner, brothers in-law, David Ratterree, Don Ratterree, Charley Ratterree, and Shirley Turner.

Lee is survived by Edna Oliphant, his children, Randy Oliphant and wife, Diane, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, Dallas Oliphant of Springfield, Missouri, and Vicky Connell and her husband, James, of Hartville, Missouri, grandchildren, Roy Oliphant, Jeremy Oliphant and wife, Angela, Kristy Paine and husband, Scott, Kelly Oliphant, and Devon Connell and his wife, Meranda, great-grandchildren, Kevin, Caleb, Skyler, Adalyn, Mackenzie, Emma, Dylan, Leilani “L.J”, Charleigh, and Raelynn, his sisters, Maxine Ratterree of Mountain Grove, Missouri, Brexine Ratterree and her husband, Johnny, of Marshfield, Missouri, many other relatives and friends who will miss him very much.
