Larry LeRoy Baird, son of the late Albert and Nellie (Decker) Baird, was born on December 14, 1941 in Kechi, Kansas and passed away on December 16, 2008 in the Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston, Missouri, following a short illness. He was 67 years and 2 days of age.
Larry grew up in Kansas and attended school in Kechi and graduated from Valley Center High School. He worked various jobs throughout his life. For the past seven he was employed by Wal-Mart Supercenter in Mtn. Grove, working in the sporting goods department. He retired in February of this year. Following retirement, he wanted to spend his golden years fishing and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He was united in marriage to Eudene “Dee” Stephenson on March 15, 1996 in Mtn. Grove, Missouri.
Larry was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He will be truly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a very special niece: Kim Rahman; a brother-in-law: Jack Duane White; and by a step-daughter: Doris Marie Wagher.
He is survived by his loving wife: Dee Baird of their home; nine children: Dane Baird of Ladson, South Carolina, Brian Beadle and Misty, Vance Baird and Vickie, Lance Baird and Bobbie, and Jeff Baird, all of Wichita, Kansas, Brian Baird and Becky, Kevin Baird and Cathy, all of Newton, Kansas, Todd Baird and Jill, of Sedgwick, Kansas, and Leslie Cannady and Craig, of Wichita, Kansas; three step-daughters: Misty Finch, Kristi Ross and James, all of Mtn. Grove, and Stacey Allen and Junior, of Kentwood, Louisiana; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother: Gary Baird and his wife, Patricia, of Wichita, Kansas; two sisters: Janice Ruth and her husband, Jerry, of Wichita, Kansas and Joyce Greer and her husband, Chuck, of Holiday Island, Arkansas; nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Friday, December 19, 2:00 PM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel.
Visitation:
Thursday, December 18, 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
