Kodi Marie Rust

Kodi Marie Rust, daughter of John Rust and Brandi (Briley) Rust, was born on May 31, 1992 in West Plains, Missouri and departed this life on June 9, 2010 in Douglas County, Missouri from injuries sustained in an automobile accident, at 18 years of age.
Kodi grew up in Mtn. Grove and graduated in May of this year from Mtn. Grove High School. She was on the road toward a long, happy, and productive life. She was active in her church, cheerleading, and numerous clubs. She would have done much more if there was more than twenty-four hours in a day.
She truly loved her family and friends, they were her heart. Although she was barely eighteen, she had already touched many lives and hearts. She always had a smile for those around her and orneriness that followed her everywhere.
Her mother would say that she was not innocent, but she had an intimate relationship with the Lord, and she knows in her heart that she is in Jesus’ arms right now. She attended the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Mtn. Grove.
She was preceded in death by great-grandparents: Leland Rust, and Jack and Ruby Randel; an aunt: Genie Marie Briley; an uncle: Luther Rhodes; and by a sister: Shelby Allen.
She is survived by her father: John Rust and Linsey Cain; her mother: Brandi Rust and Brian Allen; her brothers: Logan Rust, Ryan Murr and Dustin Murr; her sisters: Kimberly Allen, Taylor Allen, Veronica Strong and Bridget Murr; paternal grandparents: Norman and Diann Rust; paternal grandmother: Cathy Rust; maternal grandparents: Bobby and Connie Briley; paternal great-grandmother: Ruby Russell; many uncles; aunts; cousins; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her very much.
