Kevin Ray Esely, son of Thomas Eugene Esely and Clara Jean (Pacheco) Hill, was born on March 13, 1977, in Trinidad, Colorado, and passed away on August 25, 2024, in Mountain Grove. He was 47 years, 5 months, and 12 days of age.

Kevin had many jobs. He was employed as a laborer, so this put him in many different roles. Kevin’s hardworking spirit was evident throughout his various jobs as a welder, sawmill laborer, and steel plant worker. Kevin was someone who exemplified the value of diligence, always willing to do whatever needed to be done. In addition to his work ethic, Kevin had an unforgettable personality. He truly was one of a kind. As we recall his laughter and playful sense of humor, it reminds us of the best times we had with him.

Beyond his professional life, Kevin had many interests that showcased his creative side. He enjoyed being near the water, especially fishing and canoeing, while he enjoyed the tranquility of being out in nature. He was also a talented artist and tattooist. He also had a talent for woodcarving, which reflected his patience and true skill. All of the artistic ways Kevin expressed himself allowed him to create art in various forms that will continue to be cherished.

Above all, Kevin’s proudest accomplishments lay in the roles he played in the lives of others. He was a good son, father, grandfather, brother and friend. His support and love for his family and friends will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him. It is also of comfort to know that he had a good relationship with God.

Kevin is survived by his father, Tom Esely, and his wife, Evie of Colorado Springs, Colorado, his mother Clara Hill, and her husband, Gary of Mountain Grove, Missouri, his daughter, Whitney Maggard, and her three children, Declan, Finley and Archer Smith, all of Wasola, Missouri, his sister, Thomasina Rivera of Pueblo, Colorado, his brothers, Leo Esely, and Anthony Hill, both of Mountain Grove, Missouri, as well many other family and friends that will miss him very much.
