Kenneth Earl Sanders, son of the late Loyd Gus and Fern (Woolard) Sanders, was born on September 23, 1930 in Wright County, Missouri and departed this life on September 2, 2009 at his home in Cabool, Missouri surrounded by his loving family. He was 78 years, 11 months and 9 days of age.
Kenneth grew up in Wright County. He attended one room country schools at the beginning of his education and later attended Mtn. Grove Schools. At the age of thirteen he was saved and joined a Fundamental Church in Mtn. Grove. The church later burned and he decided not to place his membership in another church.
In July of 1951 he entered the United States Air Force where he served for four years and three months. He was honorably discharged in October of 1955. Kenneth was united in marriage to Betty Trumbo on February 17, 1956 in Mtn. Grove. Three children were born to this union. They made their home in the Cabool area for over twenty-five years.
Over the years, Kenneth was employed as a carpenter. He enjoyed being outdoors and visiting with his many neighbors and friends.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-three years: Betty Sanders of their home; two sons: Danny Sanders of Mtn. Grove and Jerry Sanders of Elkland, Missouri; one daughter: Janice Gockley and her husband, Gene, of Cabool, Missouri; four grandsons: Brad Sanders and his wife, Karalin, of Cabool, Missouri, Steven Sanders and his wife, Jenni of Hartville, Missouri, Brian Thompson and his wife, Jill, of the State of Georgia, and R.J. Allison of Springfield, Missouri; two granddaughters: Nicole Smallwood of Cabool, Missouri, and Rachel Donahue and her husband, Adam, of the State of Florida; nine great-grandchildren: Gavin, Walker, McKindley, Amaya, Jayci, Brea, Lani, Aiden, and Brady; one sister: Mary Lee Bay and her husband, Gordon, of Mtn. Grove; one nephew: Morgan Bay; one niece: Sarah Thompson and her husband, Scotty; two great-nephews: Chris and Ethan; one great-niece: Malorie; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him very much.
