Karen Kay (Dean) Porter, daughter of the late Leonard Keith and Reba Nell (Stephenson) Dean, was born February 5, 1947, in Lamesa, Texas. She departed this life on March 19, 2025, at Autumns Oaks Caring Center in Mountain Grove, Missouri, at 78 years of age.

Karen worked in the home healthcare field as a certified nursing assistant. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church in Texas. Karen enjoyed the simple things in life and was dedicated to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Karen enjoyed doing needlepoint and loved listening to sixties folk music. Her favorite band was The Kingston Trio.

Besides her parents, Karen was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Cayde William Blackard.

She is survived by three children, Keith Allen Porter of Cabool, Missouri, Lance Errol Porter of Pampa, Texas, and Kari Katrina (Porter) Gaines of Lubbock, Texas; seven grandchildren, Kassaundra Michelle Gaines of Lubbock, Texas, Sydnee Danielle (Porter) Garcia of Odessa, Texas, Rebecca Joy (Porter) Blackard of Odessa, Texas, Alexandra Margaret Porter of Amarillo, Texas, Matthew Barrett Porter of Pampa, Texas, Christian Dean Porter of Pampa, Texas, and Hannah Lee Osborne of Thomas, Oklahoma; nine great-grandchildren, Alexis, JJ, Iden, Kali, Halleigh, Langston, Gemma, Sophia, and Hattie; and other relatives and friends who will miss her very much.

A private family memorial service will be at a later date.
