Karen Jarrett

Karen Jane Jarrett, daughter of the late John and Pearl (Bohard) Booth, was born November 27, 1943, in Hamilton, Kansas, and departed this life April 10, 2018, in Mountain Grove, Missouri. She was 74 years, 4 months, and 14 days of age.

Karen grew up in El Dorado, Kansas, and was a graduate of El Dorado High School. She was saved and baptized at the age of 7. She loved God and liked to sing and read the Bible. She set an example for her family and raised them to be Christians. Karen loved angels and had a large collection of them. She had attended Emmanuel Baptist until her health started to fail.

Karen had a great work ethic and knew the meaning of being trustworthy and faithful in the work field. She was a crew chief for many years at McDonald’s and eventually retired from there.

Karen was united in marriage to Elza Jarrett on January 8, 1996 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together, they enjoyed spending time fishing, boating, looking for lures, and building rock gardens at Theodosia Marina Resort. After 21 happy years together, Elza passed away on May 1, 2017.

Karen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She took great pride in her family. She was a great seamstress and made many dresses and shirts for her children as they were growing up. She enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, Karen was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Tracy Rich, three brothers, Dale, Herman, and Jerry Booth, and by one sister, Marie Wilson.

Survivors include one son, Joe Rogers and wife, Aleth, of Norwood, Missouri, two daughters, Debbie Rich of Mountain Grove, Missouri and Connie Moore and husband, Terry, of Hartville, Missouri, five grandchildren, Stephanie Bradshaw and husband, Mark, of Norwood, Missouri, Nathan Rich and wife, Kristen, of Noblesville, Indiana, Melanie MacDonald and husband, Sean, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, MiKayla Dusenberry and husband, Sam, Seymour, Missouri, and W.J. Rogers of Norwood, Missouri, one step-grandchild, Chris Schmitt of Hartville, Missouri, nine great-grandchildren, Kylee, Jackson, Harrison, Gunner, BrookLynn, Brody, Hudson, Rylee, and baby Dusenberry, and many other family and friends who will miss her dearly.
