Kaleb Affholder

July 8, 1987 — March 10, 2025

Mountain Grove

Kaleb Kurtis Affholder, son of Tara (Curtis) Affholder and the late David Affholder, was born on July 8, 1987, in Springfield, Missouri, and passed away unexpectedly on March 10, 2025, at his home near Mountain Grove, Missouri, at 37 years of age.

Kaleb grew up in the Mountain Grove area. He attended elementary school and middle school at Mountain Grove public schools. His high school years were spent at Mountain Grove Christian Academy. After high school, he worked at Ace Hardware in Mountain Grove for a few years. He then attended truck driving school and employed his new skills in over-the-road trucking for many years. Kaleb later decided to come off the road and went to work as a logger.

Two of Kaleb’s favorite hobbies were hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed all aspects of farming. He had cattle for most of his life, and enjoyed putting up hay and combining with his dad and grandpa. Also, like his dad and grandpa before him, Kaleb enjoyed working on and tinkering with old cars and tractors. Another one of his favorite pastimes was playing cards and board games with his family and friends. Kaleb always enjoyed his big toys. When he was little, he loved playing with his Tonka toys, and when he grew up, he loved the big Tonka toys. He also loved spending time with his son, Kadin; especially riding dirt bikes and four-wheelers together.

Kaleb was preceded in death by his father, David Affholder, his maternal grandfather, Gene Curtis, his paternal grandparents, Richard and Louise Affholder, his uncle, Chris Curtis, his great-grandparents, and several great-uncles, great-aunts, and cousins.

He is survived by his mother, Tara (Curtis) Affholder of Mountain Grove, Missouri, his son, Kadin Affholder of Hartville, Missouri, his maternal grandmother, Louise Curtis of Mountain Grove, Missouri, his sister, Kristin Gray and husband, Jamon, of Norwood, Missouri, two nieces, Hailey Hyde and husband, Kyler, and Addy Gray, one nephew, Kolt Gray, two great-nephews, Kohen Hyde and Kasen Hyde, and many extended family and friends who will miss him.
