Kala Roe Rawlings, son of Parley Daniel and Barbara Lee Kilgore Rawlings, was born October 8, 1967, in Douglas County, Missouri, and departed this life on April 26, 2022, in a logging accident near Norwood, Missouri, at the age of 54 years, 6 months, and 18 days.
He was united in marriage to Tammara Ann Barlett on September 6, 1987, and to this union four children were born.
He was preceded in death by his father, two sons, Kalan Daniel Rawlings and Michael Leelane Rawlings, four half-sisters of Provo, Utah, parents-in-law, Freddie and Joyce Barlett, and sister-in-law, Cynthia Morrow.
Kala is survived by his wife, Tammara; two daughters, Meichkala Rawlings and husband, Kevin Gaver, of Seymour, and Meileeta Rawlings of Fairbanks, Alaska; grandchildren, Devlin-Ryke Rawlings, Ayez’In-Amoura Rawlings, Lilliana Zul and Rayne Rushing; his mother, Barbara Lehmann and husband, Jonathon; brothers, Klennon Rawlings and Delan Rawlings and wife, Janice; half-brother, Trenla Lehmann and wife, Mandy; sisters, Helen Glosemeyer and husband, Joseph, Krln Hilles, Vnda Williams, and Joyce Lehmann and husband, David; brothers-in-law, Rick Barlett and wife, Tinsie, and Randy Barlett and wife, Joanee; sister-in-law, Janie Garrison; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Kala was born and raised in Douglas County. He started his lifelong occupation as a logger in 1989, as well as being a farmer. He lived many years in Macomb before moving to Seymour eight years ago.
In his spare time, he loved hunting mushrooms and arrowheads as well as collecting burls (unusual growths on a tree trunks).
Kala was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, nephew, brother-in-law, and a caring neighbor and friend. The sudden and tragic loss of Kala has left us in shock. Please pray for our family.
