June Rae Austin

June Rae Austin, daughter of the late Benjamin and Beulah (Stephens) Heeger, was born on June 24, 1926 in Mtn. Grove, Missouri, and departed this life on April 5, 2009 at her residence near Mtn. Grove at 82 years of age.
June grew up and attended school in Mtn. Grove and graduated from Mtn. Grove High School in 1944. She was united in marriage to Levaughn Austin on October 7, 1944 in Los Angeles, California, before his deployment to the South Pacific during World War II. June remained in California until Levaughn returned at which time they came back to make their home in Mtn. Grove. Two children were born to this union.
June was a homemaker all her life and enjoyed taking care of her family. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and neighbor.
She was known as a wonderful seamstress and she also liked to quilt and do needlework. She enjoyed reading and tending to her flower and vegetable gardens each year.
June was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and at the time her passing she attended the New Home Church and the Evening Shade Church as long as her health permitted.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Jackie Sutterfield and Carol Lee Strunk.
She is survived by her loving husband: Levaughn Austin of their home; her son and daughter-in-law: Keith and Barbara Austin of Springdale, Arkansas; her daughter and son-in-law: Nancy Austin-Brockett and Mike Brockett of Temecula, California; three grandchildren: Jason Austin, Angela Austin, and Amanda (Austin) Fields; three great-grandchildren: Noah, Nicholas and Lily; nieces; nephews; and other relatives, neighbors and friends who will miss her very much.
