Julianne Downs

Julianne Joyce Downs, 57 of Seymour, Missouri, passed away at home surrounded by her family on September 19, 2022, after several years of battling autoimmune liver disease and recently with liver cancer.

She was born to parents Eugene and Joyce Epple, on May 21, 1965, in Daytona Beach, Florida.

She graduated from Sunnydale Adventist Academy in 1983, and went on to study Office Administration at Union College, graduating in 1987 with her Bachelor’s degree.

Julianne met her husband, Doug Downs, in 1980 while attending Sunnydale. They were married on August 11, 1985, in Oak Grove, Missouri. Together they raised three children: Kristen, Lesa, and Michael.

Julianne spent most of her adult life as a stay-at-home mom and kept busy with homeschooling their children as well as being very active in their local church. The last 13 years she worked with Doug as his office manager for their family business, The Northside Health Clinic. Her favorite past times included spending time with family and friends, gardening, cooking, and especially spending days at the lake riding jet skis.

She will be deeply missed by her many friends and family. She will be remembered most for her beautiful smile, generosity, patience, positivity, and continual kindness. Despite her illness, she never complained and always cared more about other people than herself.

Julianne was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Epple.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years: Doug Downs; three children and their spouses: Kristen and Jamie Godsey, Lesa and Michael Huffaker, Michael and Shalyn Downs; grandchild: Joel Huffaker; mother: Joyce Epple and her brother and his spouse; Robert and Lorena Epple; and many extended family members and countless friends.

A memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 P.M. on October 2, 2022, at 7598 State Hwy BB, Seymour, Missouri 65746.
