Judy Tatera

Judith Marlene (Ashby) Tatera was born in Peoria, Illinois, on February 26, 1938, to Ira and Evelyn Ashby. She passed away April 2, 2023, at her home in Mountain Grove, Missouri, at 85 years, 1 month, and 7 days of age.

Judith attended Tuley High School in Chicago, Illinois. She married Norman Tatera 68 years ago. He preceded her in death on June 9, 2001.

Judith greatly enjoyed family gatherings and loved her family very much. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and growing flowers, doing arts and crafts, and working on genealogy. She was also of the Catholic faith.

Besides her husband, Norman, Judith was preceded in death by her father, Ira Ashby, her mother, Evelyn Finley, her step-father, Edward C. Finley, a daughter, Angela Johnson, a sister, Sharon Levy, and a step-brother, David Finley.

She is survived by four children, Daniel (Tina) Tatera, Richard (Michelle) Tatera, Loren Tatera, and Jody Tatera, one sister, Maryfrances Gillen, one step-brother, Douglas Finley, and one half brother, James Finley, nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins, and other relatives and friends who will miss her.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests planting a tree or flower or donating to a favorite charity.
