Judy May Smith

Judy May Smith, daughter of the late Hugh Clifton and Agnes Irene (Reed) Rogers, was born on August 16, 1936 in Mountain Grove, Missouri and departed this life on May 31, 2015 at St. Joseph Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. She was 78 years, 9 months, and 15 days of age.
Judy grew up in Little Creek, Texas County, Missouri. She attended and graduated from Mountain Grove High School in 1954. Judy was united in marriage to James Phillip Smith on August 24, 1955 in Reno, Nevada. One daughter, Jean Ann, was born to this union.
After marriage, Judy and James moved to Sacramento, California. There they owned and operated a wrecking company. Judy was also a beautician and was an instructor at a beauty college for several years. In 1972, they moved their family to Yuma, Arizona. There they made their home and owned two cocktail lounges for over 40 years.
Besides her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, James Phillip Smith.
She is survived by her daughter: Jean Ann Smith of Yuma, Arizona; her brother: Roy Rogers of Mountain Grove, Missouri; her sister Vola Nelson of Mountain Grove, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.


Visitation: Wednesday, June 10, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.
