Juanita Angel Dorrance Martin, 89, joined her Heavenly Father on July 15, 2022 surrounded by family. Juanita was born on December 25, 1932 in Cimarron, NM. She was 89 years 6 months 21 days of age.
Juanita is preceded in death by her parents, Laurencio and Delia Dorrance, brother and sister-in-law, Frank “Lencho” and Tony Dorrance, brother, Felix Moreno, brother-in-law, Toby Cordova, aunt, Ruth Calderon, son-in-law, Jim Bynum, grand-daughter, Jade Drennon, and nephew, Vincent Cordova.
Juanita spent her life as a dietician with a love for cooking and baking as her profession, but also, as a way to show love for her family, friends and church. She was proud of her college education and the many cooking certifications and awards she received over her lifetime. When she wasn’t busy in the kitchen, you could find her studying her bible. She was a true prayer warrior and matriarch of the family. There was nothing more important to her than her faith and family. Her love for serving others and The Lord was evident throughout her life.
Juanita is blessed with nine surviving children. Connie “Baca” Bynum of Temple, Texas, Lila “Baca” Redmon of Aubery, Texas, Christine “Baca” Martinez of Apache, Oklahoma, Donald and Mary Martin of Blossom, Texas, Chip and Charlotte Martin of Borger, Texas, Rose “Martin” Waite of Reno, Texas, Millard and Denise Martin of Farmington, Arkansas, Carolyn “Martin” Wilson and Brent McGee of Columbia, South Carolina, and Selicia and Michael O’Malley of Elkland, Missouri. The time with cousins, nieces and nephews warmed her heart and there was no greater joy in her life than time spent with her 25 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
