Joyce Jeanette Shaw, daughter of the late Charlie and Stella (Jones) McIntosh, was born September 23, 1928, in Norwood, Missouri, and departed this life December 18, 2017, at Paul’s Valley General Hospital in Paul’s Valley, Oklahoma. She was 89 years, 2 months, and 25 days of age.
Joyce was raised on a farm in Norwood, Missouri, and graduated from Norwood High School. She married Murl Shaw and two daughters were born to this union: Arlene and Patricia.
Joyce worked on her family’s farm and for local businesses before working for the Missouri Department of Revenue as a Comptroller. She worked during the week and came back to help on the farm on the weekends for thirty years. After retiring, she stayed on the farm in Norwood. The past three years, she has lived with her daughter, Patricia, in Lexington, Oklahoma.
Joyce enjoyed canning, shopping, and reading. She also enjoyed cooking and she always prepared wonderful meals for her family. She truly enjoyed country living and the times she had on her family’s farm. She was a wonderful daughter, mother, and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
Besides her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by one sister, Charlene Faye Owens, and one son-in-law, Frank Andrews.
She is survived by two daughters, Arlene Magnin and her husband, Paul, of Lenoir City, Tennessee, and Patricia Andrews of Lexington, Oklahoma, three grandchildren, Christa (Andrews) Spears and her husband, Ryan, of Lexington, Oklahoma, Dustin Andrews and his wife, Deana, of Challis, Idaho, and Jacob Magnin and his wife, Sarah, of Mobile, Alabama, three great-grandchildren, Dakota Andrews, Luke Spears, and Isaac Magnin, and other relatives and friends.
