Joyce Gorsek

Joyce Lynne Gorsek, daughter of the late Fred Gorsek Sr. and Harriet (Blue) Gorsek, was born January 15, 1948, in Springfield, Illinois, and departed this life June 13, 2021, near Rogersville, Missouri. She was 73 years, 4 months, and 29 days of age.

Joyce grew up in Springfield and Athens, Illinois, and attended Athens High School. She retired from the state of Illinois where she worked in Human Health Services. She was a life-long cowgirl who enjoyed her horses and mules, showing horses, competitions, and trail rides.

Besides her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by one brother, Fred Gorsek Jr.

Joyce is survived by three sons, Wayne Gorsek of Las Vegas, Nevada, Mike Gorsek of Springfield, Illinois, and Eric Gargan of California, grandchildren, Justin Smith of Springfield, Illinois, Fred W. Gorsek, Johann Gorsek, Eva Gorsek, and Milani Gorsek, all of Las Vegas, Nevada, and many other relatives and friends that have been touched by her life.
