Joseph Joey Michael Szahowski, son of Richard and Margaret Szahowski, was born on April 24, 1982 in Great Falls, Montana, and passed away on July 6, 2016 at his home in Nixa, Missouri. He was 34 years, 2 months, and 12 days of age.
Joey grew up and went to school in Newport News, Virginia. He married Jessica Underwood on May 28, 2005 in Buffalo, Missouri. Three children were born to this union: Hunter, Daniel, and Abbi. They were the greatest joys of his life.
Joey was an avid bowler and historian and greatly enjoyed participating in Civil War and Revolutionary War reenactments and dearly treasured his job at Colonial Williamsburg. He volunteered as a youth bowling coach and with Cub Scout Pack 100 of Williamsburg. Joey was quick to smile, make a joke, and lived and loved passionately. Everyone who knew him had a life of joy and laughter.
Joey is survived by his loving wife of their home, Jessica; two sons: Hunter and Daniel DJ Szahowski; and one daughter: Abbi Szahowski all of Nixa, Missouri; parents: Richard and Margaret Szahowski of Gainesville, Florida; two brothers: Fredrick Szahowski of Newport news, Virginia, and Andrew Szahowski of Moose Creek, Alaska; one sister: Cynthia Kruschke of Gainesville, Florida; and many other friends and family who will greatly miss him.
