On Sunday, September 18th, Joseph A. Bommarito, beloved husband, and devoted stepfather, passed away. He was 48. He was the son of Anthony Bommarito and Mary Miller.
Joseph graduated from Walled Lake High School in Michigan. After high school, he apprenticed to become an automobile mechanic. He was a trucker for over 10 years before joining the Army. He spent his time in combat until he was injured. After leaving the military, he drove trucks.
Later in life, he met his wife, Laurene, and they were married for almost 4 years. Joseph was active at the Eastern Douglas Fire Department as a volunteer firefighter, EMR, and engineer. He enjoyed working on cars and helping all those who knew him. He prided himself in being a family man and a wonderful stepfather.
He was preceded in death by his father, Anthony, and brother, George.
He is survived by his wife, Laurene Bommarito, two stepchildren, Isabella and Abigail, his mother, Mary Bommarito, his twin brother, James Bommarito, and his brother, Mike Bommarito.
The memorial service will be held on Friday, September 30th at 10 AM at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery located at 5201 S. Southwood Rd, Springfield Missouri, 65804. Donations may be directed to the memorial fund for Joseph Bommarito to the Eastern Douglas Fire Department: HC 73 Box 7 Drury MO 65638.
