Jonelle Sue Ellis, daughter of the late John and Vivian (Clark) Butler, was born on February 20, 1951, in Gary, Indiana, and departed this life on August 21, 2016, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. She was 65 years, 6 months, and 1 day of age.
Jonelle grew up in Hannibal, Missouri. At the age of 16, Jonelle had the opportunity to sing with Marty Robbins at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee. She was an amazing singer and loved to sing at church.
On July 29, 1968, Jonelle was united in marriage to LeVon Ellis, in Miami, Oklahoma. Three daughters were born to this union: Johnna, LeVonna, and Lindsi.
Jonelle loved working on the dairy farm with LeVon. She enjoyed being in nature and caring for her flowers. Jonelle also worked as a 911 dispatcher for eleven years.
Jonelle was an amazing woman, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and friend. She dearly loved her grandbabies. Jonelle was a devout Christian and was a member of the Green Mountain Baptist Church. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, Jonelle was preceded in death by her nephew: Bobby Buttram.
She is survived by her loving husband, LeVon Ellis, of the home; three daughters: Johnna Hopkins of Hartville, Missouri, LeVonna Choate of Mountain Grove, Missouri, and Lindsi Snyder of Mountain Grove, Missouri; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends.
