Jonathon Hunter Whaley, son of Gina Whaley, was born on August 5, 1999 in Oxford, Michigan and passed away on August 27, 2013 in the Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, following injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Norwood, Missouri. He was 14 years and 22 days of age.
Hunter moved with his family at a young age to Missouri, where they have made their home south of Norwood for the past eight years. He attended school at Norwood and had recently started his freshman year.
Hunter enjoyed being outdoors, especially when hunting, fishing, doing archery, four wheeling, and hanging out with his friends. He also liked to sing and do Taekwondo and Jiu-Jitsu.
Hunter was a loving son, brother, grandson, and friend. He was a good kid who loved his family and enjoyed visiting with those around him.
He is survived by his mother: Gina Whaley; one brother: Nicholas Whaley; one sister: Lexi Whaley, all of Norwood, Missouri; his maternal grandfather: Clyde Whaley; his maternal grandmother: Emily Whaley-Strang and maternal step-grandfather: Terry Strang; two uncles: Chad Whaley and Troy Whaley; three aunts: Mara Miller, Lana Phillips, and Kera Whaley and families; and other relatives, schoolmates and friends.
