John Madruga

February 10, 1950 — June 18, 2010

John Madruga passed away on Friday, June 18, 2010 at the age of 60 years, after losing a battle with cancer. He was the son of Joseph “Joe” Madruga and Adeline (Rogers) Madruga. He was born and raised in San Diego, California.
As a child he loved the ocean and spent much of his time fishing, swimming and boating in San Diego Bay. Numerous wild pets, such as snakes, birds, and lizards would often turn up at the Madruga household, courtesy of John. He became a commercial tuna fisherman early in life, a passion he inherited from his father. For many years he fished in numerous places such as Australia, the Western Pacific, and both coasts of the United States.
He and Laura Coble-Madruga moved to the Mtn. Grove area fifteen years ago to live on a farm north of Mtn. Grove in the Graff Community, where they made their home. John worked in local sawmills for most of that time. He especially enjoyed the outdoors and fishing. He had an adventurous spirit and lived life tot the fullest, and sometimes even on the edge.
He was preceded in death by his father: Joe Madruga in June of 2009.
He is survived by Laura Coble Madruga of their home; his mother: Adeline Madruga of San Diego, California; six brothers: Joe of Bend, Oregon, Jim, Brian, Jeff, Matt, and Mark Madruga of San Diego, California; five children: Christian Bauer of Seattle, Washington, Aaron Bench of Tacoma, Washington, and Christopher Coble of Fort Bliss, Texas; Celeste Madruga of San Diego, California, and Gabriellea Madruga of Orange County, California; four grandchildren: Calum, Kaylee, Vincent and Peytonn, with the fifth one on the way; and other relatives and many friends. John, you will always be in our hearts and our memories.
