John Edward Melton

John Edward Melton, son of Dale Melton and Fern (Holt) Melton, was born March 19, 1955 in Mountain Grove, Missouri and passed away on December 27, 2008 at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, Missouri at 53 years of age.
John grew up in Mountain Grove and graduated from Mountain Grove High School in 1973. He was the father of two children, Larry Dale Melton and Shanda (Melton) Satterfield. John enjoyed driving a truck for over twenty years.
John was witty and fun loving and always enjoyed the time he spent with his friends. His door was always open. He was a big man with a big heart and would help anyone that needed it. He also enjoyed the outdoors and loved camping at the Monastery.
John was preceded in death by his son, Larry Dale Melton on February 15, 1992.
He is survived by one daughter: Shanda Satterfield of Mountain Grove; his father and step-mother: Dale and Karen Melton of Gainesville, Missouri; his mother: Fern Melton of Macomb, Missouri; one brother: Bob Melton and his wife, Nancy, of Macomb, Missouri; one sister: Brenda Shores of Mansfield, Missouri; two grandchildren: Latham and Braden Melton; and many, many other friends and relatives who will sadly miss him.

Visitation: Tuesday, December 30, 2008 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM in the Chapel
Burial: Fowler Cemetery
