John Clifford Hardin, son of the late Clifford Farley and Jessie (Greenlaw) Hardin, was born on October 24, 1930 in Indianola, Iowa, and departed this life on January 15, 2017 in Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston, Missouri. He was 86 years, 2 months, and 22 days of age.
John was raised in Indianola and was a high school graduate in Sewal, Iowa in 1947. He was united in marriage to Cora Lucille Cox on August 16, 1950 in Indianola, Iowa. Four children were born to this union.
John joined the United States Marine Corps in 1950 during the Korean War. He later served as a police officer for approximately 5 years. Following that, John became a mechanic before becoming an over the road truck driver, which was the profession he retired from.
John was also an ordained Free Will Baptist minister, serving as pastor in various churches in Missouri throughout his life.
He also enjoyed being outside, working in the garden and on the farm. He greatly loved spending time and visiting with his friends and family.
Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lucille, on November 5, 2014, one brother, Ross Hardin, and by three sisters, Mary Mastin, Rose Thompson, and Ruth Gault.
He is survived by two sons, Richard Hardin and his wife, Marsha, of Pace, Florida, and Eric Hardin and his wife, Mary, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, two daughters, Marilee Walker and her husband, Dan, of Edwards, Missouri, and Barbara Gault and her husband, Chester, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, two brothers, Hugh Hardin and his wife, Zina, of Keosauqua, Iowa, and Lee Hardin and his wife, Pat, of Spring, Texas, three sisters, Jane Hullinger of Humeston, Iowa, Ginny Wagner and her husband, Randy, of Olathe, Kansas, and Ellen Hardin and Rhonda of Steilacoom, Washington, eleven grandchildren, Candy, Christy, Curtis, Cliff, Ben, Charity, Jennifer Ann, Misty, Jennifer Kay, Megan, and Keith, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.
Visitation: Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM in the Chapel.
Funeral Service: Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel.
Burial: Lone Star Cemetery, Mtn. Grove.
