John 'Bill' Willie Ratliff

John Willie “Bill” Ratliff, son of the late Willy Earl and Olga Sue Ratliff, was born on August 11, 1936 in Nettleton, Mississippi, and departed this life on December 14, 2011 at his residence in Mtn. Grove, Missouri, following a long illness. He was 75 years, 4 months and 3 days of age.
Bill grew up and attended school in Oklahoma and Mississippi. He graduated from Nettleton High School in Nettleton, Mississippi. He met Margaret Willett in Illinois and they were united in marriage on July 5, 1958 in Mississippi.
In 1978, Bill opened Bill’s Package Store in Mtn. Grove and operated the store until his health started failing.
Bill enjoyed being outdoors, especially when fishing, hunting, and tending to his vegetable garden each year. He liked growing and sharing his hot peppers and tomatoes. He also enjoyed watching a good game of football and boxing on television whenever possible.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Howard Ratliff.
He is survived by his loving wife: Margaret Ratliff of their home; two sons: John Earl Ratliff of Mtn. Home, Arkansas and David Wayne Ratliff of Mtn. Grove; one daughter: Virginia Sue Imhof of Springfield, Missouri; seven grandchildren: Johnathan Roark, Ross Roark, Nicole Marie Imhof, Meagan Sue Imhof, John Taylor Ratliff, Trace Ratliff, and Trinity Rayne Ratliff; and a host of other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.
