Jess 'Andy' Andrew Linton

January 6, 1954 — May 31, 2014

Jess Andrew Andy Linton, son of Charles E. Linton Sr., and Lillian O. (Holt) Linton, was born on January 6, 1954 in Stockton, California, and departed this life on May 31, 2014 at his home in Mtn. Grove, Missouri, surrounded by his family. He was 60 years, 4 months, and 25 days of age.
As a young boy, Andy was sweet with a kick of ornery. He moved with his family from California to Missouri, at the age of eight. Andy was nicknamed Chip, by his namesake, Jess Holt, and it stuck with him for years to come. As a young man, Andy followed the career path of his father and became a truck driver. He later collaborated with his brother, Ed, and started a trucking business, called A&E Transport.
Andy enjoyed spending time with his brothers and sisters, no matter what they were doing. Throughout his life, you could find him enjoying many hobbies, whether it was playing Pinochle, shooting pool, playing golf or throwing darts.
Each year Andy looked forward to attending deer camp with his brothers, which had been an annual tradition since the early 1990's. It had grown to include not only the brothers, but also the younger generations to carry on the camaraderie among them all. Andy was also famous in the family for his cooking skills. He was often asked to cater family functions because of his gift of grilling.
Andy was ultimately known for his spitfire, yet comical personality. He left us with many memories we will cherish forever.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Charles E. Linton Sr., and Lillian O. Linton Freels; his maternal grandparents: Jess and Rosetta (Deaton) Holt, and Minnie (Rhodes) Holt; his paternal grandmother: Thelma Linton; and by a niece: Lindsey Jade Linton.
He is survived by his five children: Tina Kembel and her husband, Jake, of Mtn. Grove, Missouri, Shawn Kinder of Moberly, Missouri, Richie Linton and his wife, Vickie, of Rogersville, Missouri, Nikki Hatton and her husband, David, of Houston, Missouri, and Krystal Mackey and her husband, Jamie, of Rogersville, Missouri; eight grandchildren: Chase, Breanna, Austin, Dalton, Abbie, Isaac, Allison, and Olivia; two sisters: Gale Payton and her husband, James, and Charlene Linton, all of Mtn. Grove, Missouri; six brothers: Terry Azevedo and his wife, Janet, of Mtn. Grove, Missouri, Ed Linton and his wife, Ginny, of Springfield, Missouri, Randy Linton and his wife, Debbie, of Willard, Missouri, Harry Linton and his wife, Karen, of Mtn. Grove, Missouri, Scott Linton and his wife, Gayela, of Mtn. Grove, Missouri, and Todd Linton and his wife, Kacee, of Norwood, Missouri; one uncle: Clyde Holt of Carsonville, Michigan; his beloved dog: Chloe; numerous nieces and nephews; and other family and friends who will miss him dearly.
