Jerry Dwayne Hicks, son of Billie and Cheryl (Ussery) Hicks, was born on July 2, 1970, in Mountain Grove, Missouri, and departed this life on March 30, 2016, at his home in Norwood, Missouri. He was 45 years, 8 months, and 28 days of age.
Jerry grew-up in Norwood and graduated from Norwood High School. He was united in marriage to Laurie McCallister on February 24, 1996, in Denlow, Missouri. Three children were born to this union: Billy, Heather, and Kara.
As a young boy, Jerry accepted Christ as his personal Savior. He loved to hunt, fish, and spend time with his family. He also enjoyed barbecues and fish frys. He was an excellent mechanic, and was working at Farmers Ag at the time of his passing. Jerry would help anyone in need at any time. He had a lot of friends and never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jerry was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Otis and Lorene Hicks; maternal grandparents: Fred and Exie Ussery; and his father-in-law: David McCallister.
He is survived by his loving wife, Laurie Hicks of the home; son, Billy Hicks of Norwood, Missouri; two daughters: Heather Bradshaw and husband, Taylor, of Norwood, Missouri, and Kara Hicks of Norwood, Missouri; his parents: Billie and Cheryl Hicks of Norwood, Missouri; one sister: Angela Tate and husband, Darren, of Norwood, Missouri; one grandchild due in June; his wife's parents: James and Barbara Elliott; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation: Sunday, April 3, 2016, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.
Funeral Services: Monday, April 4, 2016, at 10:00 AM at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.
Burial: Thomas Cemetery
