Jerry Allen Skaggs, son of the late William Taylor and Mary Louise (Borders) Skaggs, was born June 22, 1957, in Louisville, Kentucky, and passed away February 8, 2022, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. He was 64 years, 7 months, and 17 days of age.
Jerry was a Chief in the United States Navy where he served his country for 17 ½ years. He later went to work as a painter assistant for the Loren Cook Company.
On February 15, 1997, he married his best friend, Levita June Rhodes, in Springfield, Missouri.
Jerry was an avid fisherman, loved playing pool, and watching football. He was a big Tom Brady fan and was for any team Tom played for. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved going on family outings.
Jerry loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He loved attending church and enjoyed the fellowship of his church family.
Besides his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by three brothers, David, Charles, and Jack, and by two sisters, Virginia, and Patty.
He is survived by his loving wife, Levita Skaggs, one son, William Taylor Skaggs, one daughter, Heather Marie Skaggs, two stepsons, James Troy Rhodes, and Travis Duane Rhodes, one stepdaughter, Lisa Harris, one brother, Danny Skaggs, one sister, Barbara Jean Smith, ten grandchildren, and other relatives and friends who will miss him very much.
