Jeneita Fish

Jeneita Lou (Smith) Fish, daughter of the late Drew and Clara (Wake) Smith, was born November 23, 1941, in Vanzant, Missouri, and departed this life surrounded by family on October 2, 2022, in Mountain Grove, Missouri. She was 80 years, 10 months, and 9 days of age.

Jeneita grew up in a large family. She and her twin sister, Juanita, were the fifth and sixth children born to their family. Jeneita was united in marriage to Ross Fish on November 14, 1959. Two sons and two daughters were born to this union. They raised their family in Mountain Grove. Jeneita was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She and Ross enjoyed traveling, fishing, garage sales, and metal detecting. Her greatest joy was the continual swinging back door welcoming friends and family for a cup of coffee. Jeneita always had a welcoming spirit, a listening ear, and a spitfire humor. She always had a good joke and loved hearing a new one.

Jeneita was dedicated to serving Jesus Christ. She was an active member of Southside Baptist Church for 53 years where she taught Sunday School and helped in many other ways throughout the years. Jeneita always found a good time to share her faith with others.

Besides her parents, Jeneita was preceded in death by her husband, Ross Fish, on May 24, 2021.

Jeneita is survived by four children, Danny Fish of Theodosia, Missouri, Denise Reinoehl of Bonner Springs, Kansas, Sandie Rodery and husband, Pat, of Cape Fair, Missouri, and Stacy Fish and wife, Angie, of West Plains, Missouri, thirteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her greatly.
