Dorothy Jean (Gilley) Bradshaw, daughter of the late Afton John and Reda Mae (Jenkins) Gilley, was born May 5, 1942, in Mountain Grove, Missouri, and departed this life February 6, 2018, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. She was 75 years, 9 months, and 1 day of age.
Jean was raised in Mountain Grove and graduated from Mountain Grove High School in 1959. She married Owen “Jack” Bradshaw at her parent’s farm on May 29, 1959. Two children were born to this union: Janet and Jerry.
Jean worked for Brown Shoe Company for over thirty years. In her spare time, she enjoyed making handmade cards and working with ceramics. She was an avid bird watcher and always had several bird feeders out in her yard. She also enjoyed researching her family’s genealogy and served as secretary for Lone Star Cemetery for many years.
Besides her parents, Jean was preceded in death by one sister, Donna Dow, her son-in-law, Kenny Ratterree, and by one grandson, Billy Joe Ratterree.
She is survived by her husband, Jack Bradshaw of the home, one daughter, Janet Ratterree of Mountain Grove, Missouri, one son, Jerry Bradshaw, and his wife, Britia, of Springfield, Missouri, three brothers, Harvey Gilley of Kansas City, Kansas, Jackie Gilley and his wife, Patsy, of Springfield, Missouri, and Danny Gilley and his wife, Debi of Aldrich, Missouri, four grandchildren, David Ratterree, Kecia Schrock and her husband, Wendal, Jeannie Emery and her husband, Chris, and Kailey Bradshaw, ten great-grandchildren, Andy, Ashton, Mikael, Mikala, Lily, Trenton, Maecy, Emma, Ethan, and Madison, one great-great-grandchild, Zane, and other relatives and friends who will greatly miss her.
