Janna Lynn Campbell

Janna Lynn (Craig) Campbell, daughter of the late Samuel and Virginia Craig, was born on June 4, 1957 in Leon, Iowa, and departed this life on February 13, 2017 at Cox Medical Center Branson, Missouri, at 59 years of age.


Janna was raised on a farm south of Davis City, Iowa, just one mile from Grand River. She attended K-12 Community Schools in Lamoni, Iowa, and graduated with the class of 1975. After high school, Janna attended Gibson Vo-tec Business School in Branson, Missouri. She was employed by Contel Telephone Company as a customer service representative. It was shortly after this time living in Branson, Janna met the love of her life, Dowe Campbell. Dowe and Janna were united in marriage on January 10, 1987 in Branson, Missouri at the Grotto, country log church. Two children were born to this union, Emily Nichole and Curtis Ross.


In 1990, they moved to Mountain Grove, Missouri to start a business and purchase their first farm, where they continued to reside today. Upon moving to Mountain Grove, Janna continued to work for Contel phone company based out of West Plains, Missouri. In 1992, Janna had the opportunity to work for Farm Credit Services where she was employed as a Financial Service Specialist until her death. Janna had planned to retire Spring of 2017, so she could enjoy traveling, gardening, and growing flowers. Her greatest love above all, was attending her children and grandchildrens activities, such as sporting events to dance recitals, school plays to livestock shows. Her favorite family activity was taking her grandchildren camping.

Janna touched many lives throughout her life. She was baptized in Christ May 6, 1999, alongside her children Emily and Ross, and became a member of First Christian Church in Mountain Grove, Missouri. What a glorious happy day this was!


Janna was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Virginia Craig; infant brother, Timothy Guy; and a half-brother, Daniel Craig. She is survived by her loving husband of thirty years, Dowe Campbell of the home; one son, Ross Campbell and wife Shereen, Branson, Missouri; one daughter, Emily Peterson and husband Jacob, Mountain Grove, Missouri; one step-daughter, Cassie Campbell of Branson, Missouri; one sister, Joyce Barth of Branson, Missouri; two special nephews, David and Timmy Barth and families, Branson, Missouri; three grandchildren that she absolutely adored, Samuel, Ellie Lynn, and Benjamin Peterson; two step-grandchildren, Matthew Trumble and Aeriana Bamba, and a host of other relatives, family, and friends.


The joy of Jannas life was being a mother and grandmother. She had a passion for life and was always planning or organizing the next family vacation or gathering. Janna and her family took many vacation trips to Florida beaches and Colorado and Montana mountains. She always had everyones best interest at heart-being a mother to all. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her so.
