Janice Marie (Strunk) Chronister

Janice Marie (Strunk) Chronister, daughter of Hubert G. and Donzella F. (Mings) Strunk, was born February 24, 1964 in Houston, Missouri, and departed this life July 16, 2015 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. She was 51 years, 4 months, and 22 days of age.
Janice grew up in Raytown, Missouri, and went to school in both Raytown and Plato, graduating from Plato High School. She spent a lot of time in Mountain Grove as a child, visiting with grandparents and enjoyed going to Camp Joy where she was saved in 1976.
Janice worked for Brown Shoe Company in Cabool, Missouri, for 20 years. She also worked at The Flower Basket in Cabool and enjoyed designing and making flower arrangements. She later worked at Richards Brothers and 3-G Processing in Mountain Grove.
Janice loved being outdoors. She enjoyed floating and being on the river, and playing with her dogs. She also loved music and spending time with her sister.
Janice was preceded in death by her husband, James Chronister, on June 22, 2014; her paternal grandfather: Hubert Strunk; and by her maternal grandparents: Earl and Violet Mings.
She is survived by her parents: Hubert and Donzella Strunk of Mountain Grove, Missouri; her sister: Janette (Strunk) ODell and her husband, Paul, of Lebanon, Missouri; one nephew: Kyle Massey; one great-nephew: Ruger Dale Massey; her paternal grandmother: Merry Bell Strunk-Summers of Mountain Grove, Missouri; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.


Visitation: Monday, July 20, 2015 from 1:00 - 2:00 PM in the Chapel.

Funeral Service: Monday, July 20, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel.

Burial: Dutch Chapel Cemetery
