Janet Lynn Hopkins, 60, passed away March 4, 2021, at Medicalodges Nursing Home in Oxford, Kansas. She was born March 26, 1960, in Mountain Grove, Missouri, the daughter of Alva Wayne and Wanda June Hopkins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her favorite Aunt and Uncle, Betty and Norman Hopkins.
Surviving are her sister, Jeanne Calhoun, and best friend, Pam McGinnis, of Springfield, Missouri, brother, Larry Hopkins (Pam) of Wichita, Kansas, brother, David Hopkins (Sherrie) of Peck, Kansas, sister, Sandy Bolan (Owen) of Park City, Kansas, nieces and nephews, Mindy Rogers (Don) of Wichita, Kansas, Jason Hopkins (Candy) of Wichita, Kansas, Raine Hopkins (Sam) of Wichita, Kansas, Chasta Ysidro (Monte) of Wichita, Kansas, Kash Bolan (Veena) of Clearwater, Kansas, Haylie Patton (Najee) of Park City, Kansas, and Kylie Wisinger (Terek) of Clearwater, Kansas. She is also survived by many great-nieces and nephews and many cousins.
Because of Janet’s disability, after her mom died, she went to live in the facilities of the Kansas Elks Training Center for the Handicapped (KETCH). She worked in the KETCH workshops, participated in the day program and participated in the Special Olympics.
The Hopkins family would like to thank all of the people at KETCH who worked with Janet in her daily activities and provided her a place to live. Janet was a big presence in the lives of her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all of us.
