Jane Wehmeyer

April 22, 1963 — April 18, 2025

Hartville

Jane Marie (Wright) Wehmeyer was born April 22, 1963, and departed this life on April 18, 2025, peacefully at her home in Hartville, Missouri, at the age of 61 years, 11 months, and 27 days.

Jane was born in Saint Charles, Missouri. She graduated from Wright City High School in the class of 1981. Shortly after graduating high school she was set up on a blind date, by her high school best friend with a man from a rival school. They rapidly fell in love. Not long after graduating college at Southeast Missouri State University, she was united in marriage to Tim Wehmeyer on June 15, 1985. To this union two children were born. Jane and Tim spent the first two years of marriage in Warrenton, Missouri. They then moved to Hermann, Missouri, where they would spend three short years before making their final move and purchasing a farm in Hartville, Missouri.

Jane began her career as an educator in Warrenton, Missouri. She would later go on to attend Mizzou and receive her Masters Degree in Education. Jane taught at several schools before settling down at Mansfield R-4 School district where she taught high school math for over 20 years. During her summers off from school she would spend that time in St Louis, Missouri, where Tim was working at the time. Taking full advantage of her time in St Louis, she would frequently visit many of the local attractions including Forest Park, the library, and even the occasional St. Louis Cardinals baseball game.

Jane enjoyed vacationing and traveled to 37 states alongside her family in their RV. Her love for traveling came from the numerous trips she made with her parents as a child taking full advantage of her fathers occupation with an airline. She also enjoyed reading, especially a good adventure or mystery novel. She absolutely loved her pets Snowball and Daisy. They were not just pets to her, they were one of her children. Jane was very talented, spending much of her spare time crafting, quilting, making dresses, and even painting. Her paintings were truly remarkable and could have easily earned her a career as an artist.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Rebecca Jane Wehmeyer.

Jane is survived by her husband of 40 years, Tim Wehmeyer, her son, Taylor Wehmeyer and wife, Paula, of Springfield, Missouri, her parents, Harold and Joan Wright. She is also survived by two sisters, LuAnn Czerniewski and husband, Greg, Susan Wilfong and husband, Kent and her brother, Mike Wright and husband, Brandon, along with several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.

Jane will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. She leaves behind a legacy, having impacted the lives of so many students and coworkers from her time as an educator. She never gave up on a student and held them to a high standard pushing them to success. She will be greatly missed, but her legacy will live on in the hearts of her students and family.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mansfield High School Math Club (make check to Mansfield Schools, memo: Math Club) or Little Creek Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
