James White Noble, son of the late Kenneth and Jennie (White) Noble, was born on December 10, 1926 in Westerville, Ohio and departed this life on October 28, 2008 in the Lawrence County Manor in Mount Vernon, Missouri following a short illness. He was 82 years, 10 months and 18 days of age.
James grew up and attended school in Westerville and graduated from Westerville High School in 1944.
He was united in marriage to Betty Jean Hicks in August of 1972. They made their home on farms in Texas County, Douglas County and later moved to Mount Vernon where he was living at the time of his passing.
James was a farmer all his life. He enjoyed tending to his farm chores and being outdoors. They spent a lot of time in the Mtn. Grove area visiting Betty’s family over the years.
James was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He will be truly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Betty Jean Noble on November 24, 2001; four brothers: Bert Noble, Bob Noble, Calvin Noble and Shorty Noble.
He is survived by his step-son and his wife: Jerry and Ellen Hicks of Aurora, Missouri; two sisters: Lois Beck of the State of Ohio and Helen Oldham of the State of Arizona; four granddaughters: Cate Hicks, Carrie Cook, Jerrica Hicks, and Sharon Hicks; three great-granddaughters: Kaylie McNeal, Christina Cook and Chelsea Cook; and many other relatives, neighbors and friends.

Mr. Noble was cremated under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Mtn. Grove, Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home in Mtn. Grove.
