James W. Finch was born in Norwood, Missouri on December 11, 1937 to James Ely and Minnie May (Aikman) Finch. He departed this life peacefully in his sleep at his residence in Norwood, Missouri on December 25, 2011. He was 74 years and 14 days of age.
James is survived by seven children: James “Mike” Finch and his wife, Annetta, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, Deloris “Kathy” Crain of Mansfield, Missouri, Donald “Pat”Finch and his wife, Nancy, of Ava, Missouri, Kenneth Finch and his wife, Barb, of Booneville, Missouri, Margaret Crain and her husband, Brent, of Mansfield, Missouri, David Finch and his wife, Judy, of Tipton, Missouri; a stepson Mark Alflen and his wife, Terrell, of Waverly, Kansas; 21 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; numerous nieces; nephews; and friends; also his long time companion: Clara Morgan.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters: Rhoda Abigail Dodson, Armandy Leota Dennis, Eva Octavia Conley, and Mary Lou Louise Jones; two brothers: Henry Berry Taylor and Emery Richard Finch; one daughter: Debra Crain; one grandson: James L. Johnson; and by one granddaughter: Kathy L. Johnson.
James worked for many years at Mans-Steel in Mansfield, Missouri. During those years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Later in his life when his health began failing, James enjoyed tinkering with his old truck, planting flowers and listening to old country music.
He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
