James H. Pennington

June 14, 1942 — March 4, 2010

James H. Pennington, son of the late John William and Mary Olive (Getman) Pennington, was born on June 14, 1942 in Douglas County, Missouri and departed this life on Thursday, March 4, 2010 in the Kabul Nursing Home in Cabool, Missouri, following a long illness. He was 67 years, 8 months and 18 day of age.
James grew up and attended school in Denlow, Missouri. He lived in the Denlow area most all of his life.
He was well known for his ability to play different instruments, especially the violin. As a youngster, he would often get into trouble for playing and annoying those around him. He enjoyed working with his hands; making furniture and beautiful violins. He was also an avid outdoorsman, especially when tending to his vegetable gardens each year.
James was a kind person and enjoyed visiting with his family and friends whenever he could.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers: Roosevelt, William, Julius, and Alvis Pennington; and by two sisters: Susie Spencer and Ramona Reeves.
He is survived by one sister: Avis Wells and her husband, Paul, of Cattaraugus, New York; several nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and other relatives and friends who will miss him very much.
