James Beuford Johnson, son of the late Otto O. and Ruby (Canamore) Johnson, was born on October 30, 1944, in McCrory, Arkansas, and departed this life on October 30, 2015, at his residence in Mountain Grove, Missouri. He was 71 years of age.
James was raised in Rector, Arkansas, and attended school in Forrest City, Arkansas. In 1962, James enlisted in the United States Army. He was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and cutting wood. James loved his grandchildren and had nicknames for each of them, but called them all his angels. He enjoyed telling tall tales and military stories. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Besides his parents, James was preceded in death by his wife Joyce Marie (Parsons) Johnson on November 2, 2002; four brothers: Billy, Lewis, Bobby, and J.D. Johnson; and one sister: Laverne Alsup.
He is survived by three daughters: Rhonda Grumadas and her husband, Robert Peanut, of Republic, Missouri, Cristy Wedge and her husband, Harvey, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, and Lisa Clifford and her husband, Jon, of Mountain Grove, Missouri; one brother: Forrest Johnson; two sisters: Betty Story and Shirley Rulling; eight grandchildren: Michael, Sami, William and his fianc, Tabitha Clark, Nolan and his fianc, Chelsea Lowe, Zachary, Lily, Aliyah Rootbeer, and Alex; one great-grandchild: Keatyn Lowe; and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation: Tuesday, November 3, 2015 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM in the Chapel.
Graveside Service: Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at 2:00 PM in Lone Star Cemetery.
Burial: Lone Star Cemetery.
