James Alvin Long, son of the late Merlin Alvin and Goldie Marie (Robison) Long, was born February 24, 1953, in Mountain Grove, Missouri. He passed away July 4, 2019, in Jasper, Arkansas. He was 66 years, 4 months, and 10 days of age.
Alvin grew up in Mountain Grove and attended school there. He owned and operated a tree service business, known as Long’s Tree Service, for 44 years.
He loved spending time with his family, fishing, shooting pool, and playing cards. Alvin will be greatly missed by his family, relatives and friends.
Besides his parents, Alvin was preceded in death by one grandchild, Leeanne Goldie Long, and one brother, Jessie Long.
He is survived by four sons, Mark Long and his wife, Kristen, of West Plains, Missouri, Alan Homer and his wife, Amanda, of Branson, Missouri, Jason Long and his wife, Stacy, of Rockaway Beach, Missouri, and Brandon Long and his wife, Stefany, of Omaha, Arkansas, two daughters, Tabatha Morrow and her husband, Paul, of Springfield, Missouri, and Nacole Thompson of Springfield, Missouri, four brothers, Merlin Long, Benferd “Smoky” Long, Ray Long, and Benjamin Long, two sisters, Betty Lathem and Mary Long, nineteen grandchildren and another grandchild on the way, and the love of his life, Sharon Thompson.
