Jacob Daniel Wright was born September 13, 1998 in Seaford, Delaware, and went home to be with his Savior on August 22, 2017. Jake spent the first part of his life growing up on a farm in Harrington, Delaware, with his parents, four older brothers and sisters, and one little brother, before the family moved to a ranch in Hartville, Missouri, in 2006.
Jake was full of life and enjoyed working with his cows and sheep, hunting, canoeing, playing basketball, playing video games and entertaining friends with his quick wit and charm. He was quick to learn new things and proud to tell his family what he had been doing at work and the jobs he had been working on. He loved to sing and joke around and looked for a friend in everybody he met. He loved playing with his niece and three nephews and they all loved “Uncle Jake.”
Jake received Christ as his Savior at a young age and over the years made it clear that he wanted to please him. He was proud to have attended Camp Joy for 10 years in a row. He also faithfully attended Liberty Faith Church, Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church, and most recently enjoyed attending Mountain Grove Family Church with his oldest brother and his family.
Jake was a kind and loving son, brother, grandson, uncle, cousin and nephew. He will be sorely missed by all who had the chance to know him. We are thankful for the assurance and promise of seeing him again through God’s gift of salvation, and are so grateful to God for giving him to us for the short time he allowed.
Jake is survived by his parents, Ron and Heather (McQuate) Wright of Hartville, Missouri; sister, Kaitie Kelly and husband, Clayton, and their children, Adrian and Evenne; sister, Kasey Mills and her son, Pierce; brother, Dalton Wright and wife, Madison (Smith), and their son, Duncan; brothers, Dylan Wright and Joel Wright; grandparents, Ronnie and Shirleen Wright of Harrington, Delaware, and Sandra Parker of Denton, Maryland; uncle, Greg Wright and wife, April (Anthony), with cousins, Austin and Trey, of Harrington, Delaware; aunt, Jenny Bartz and husband, Frank, of Denton, Maryland; uncle, Scott Parker of Denton, Maryland; cousin, Josh McNeil and wife, Nikki (Knipple); along with numerous other extended family members still in Maryland and Delaware.
