Jack Hopkins

Jackie Dale Hopkins, son of the late John R. and Avy (Barnett) Hopkins, was born February 9, 1932, in Wright County, Missouri, and departed this life January 1, 2023, in Hartville, Missouri. He was 90 years, 10 months, and 22 days of age.

Jack grew up and attended school in Wright County. He enjoyed anything that involved horses. He liked horseback riding and pulling carts and wagons. Jack also liked tinkering on old cars.

Besides his parents, Jack was preceded in death by one son, Charles Hopkins, and one grandson, Travis Murphy.

Survivors include three daughters, Geraldine Murphy of Kansas City, Kansas, Marlene Dade of Kansas City, Kansas, and Darlene Hopkins-Lillard of Louisburg, Kansas, three brothers, Frank Hopkins of Hartville, Missouri, Jerry Hopkins of San Antonio, Texas, and Robert Hopkins of Decatur, Illinois, four sisters, Sherry Harrell of Springfield, Missouri, Jo Ann Clark of Eudora, Kansas, Judy Adamson of Mountain Grove, Missouri, and Fern Filley of Mountain Grove, Missouri, as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

No services are planned. Burial will be in the Robinett Cemetery, Hartville, Missouri, under the direction of Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home of Mountain Grove.
