Jack David Potts, son of the late Roscoe Alexander and Ruby (Salsman) Potts, was born on July 4, 1932 in Wright County, Missouri and departed this life on August 7, 2013 in the Rocky Ridge Manor in Mansfield, Missouri, following a long illness. He was 81 years, 1 month and 3 days of age.
Jack grew up and attended school in Wright County. He served his country in the United States Army for three years and was honorably discharged on December 30, 1953. Following his discharge, Jack returned to the Mtn. Grove area where he worked at various jobs over the years.
He enjoyed playing bingo and would travel to area towns to play. He also enjoyed being outdoors, especially when fishing and gardening. His friend, J.C. Spurgeon, would often take Jack with him to fish at Porter’s Lake, which they enjoyed very much.
Jack was a kind and generous man and wanted to help those around him.
He lived in the Dawson area for many years, north of Mtn. Grove and would often walk to Mtn. Grove to visit with his friends.
When his health started failing and he could no longer take care of himself, Jack became a resident of Rocky Ridge Manor, where he lived for the past nine years.
Jack is survived by three cousins: Helen Perkins of Mtn. Grove, whom became his guardian for the past several years, Louise Shepherd of Bethany, Missouri, and Dwain “Jack” Stevens of Marsing, Idaho; and his many friends.
