Jack Chadwell

March 16, 1944 — November 11, 2024

Norwood

Jack Chadwell, son of the late Charles Ralph Chadwell and Katie Rebecca (Kempt) Chadwell, was born March 16, 1944, in Macomb, Missouri, and passed away November 11, 2024. He was 80 years, 7 months, and 26 days of age.

Jack grew up in the Norwood community and graduated with the class of 1961. He married Judy Douglas on May 28, 1965. Three sons were born to this union, Douglas Chadwell, Gregory Chadwell, and Rusty Chadwell. They were the pride of his life.

Jack worked at Kraft Foods in Springfield, Missouri, but his desire was to have a dairy farm which he accomplished in 1972, purchasing a farm in Norwood, Missouri. He loved farming and worked hard every day. He taught the boys how to work hard and how to do things right! A tractor accident in 2000 caused him to have to quit the dairy life and he then raised beef cattle until his stroke in 2023 when he sold his beef cows.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing and passed this on to his children and grandchildren. Playing pool was also something he enjoyed, mainly because it was a way to challenge himself.

He had been a Deacon at Union Grove (Caudle) Church since 1975. His church was important to him and he set the example of being a Christian, “walking the walk-not just talking the talk.”

Jack loved sports and always supported his sons and grandchildren in all their events. He was so proud of all their accomplishments, in sports as well as education. He had lots of sayings that kept his grandkids laughing!

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Katie Chadwell, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Archie and Geneva Douglas, and his only brother, Joe Chadwell.

He is survived by his wife, Judy (Douglas) Chadwell, three sons, Doug Chadwell and his wife, Tracy, Greg Chadwell and his wife, Jennifer, Rusty Chadwell and his wife, Amy, six grandchildren, Ashlynn Brawley and her husband, Dylon, JD Chadwell and his wife, Madison, Emma Ellickson and her husband, Luke, Mica Chadwell, Lucas Chadwell, and Abby Chadwell, five great-grandchildren, Kamden Brawley, Jaxton Brawley, Eden Chadwell, Iyla Chadwell, and Briggs Chadwell, his cousin, Bob Chadwell and his wife, Shirley, three brothers-in-law that he loved like brothers, Dale Douglas, Danny Douglas, and George Ridens, close friend, Jack Barnett and Bonita who were always there for him through thick and thin, his church family and other relatives and friends.

He wanted to tell everyone, “Don’t mourn for me-just come and go to Heaven with me!”
