Jack Allan Sprague

December 30, 1962 — August 2, 2020

Jack Allan Sprague, son of the late Larry Sprague and Emogene (Dobbs) Sprague, was born December 30, 1962, in Panama City, Florida, and passed away suddenly August 2, 2020, at his home in Norwood, Missouri. He was 57 years, 7 months, and 3 days of age.

Jack was born in a naval hospital and, as a child, lived in Florida, Iowa, Indiana, Okinawa, Japan, Idaho, Illinois, New Hampshire, and Missouri. He enlisted in the Navy in 1980, when he was 17 years old and retired in 2004. Jack had been around the world three times. He loved being a sailor, it was his life. He spent 22 years in the Navy and served as a Machinist Mate for the majority of his career. He also served as a Boiler Repairman on his last ship. When he was stationed stateside in Ingleside, Texas, he started working with computers and was sent all over the country to set up computers for the Navy. Jack was a great teacher to many younger recruits and continued to be in communication with some of them throughout the years.

Jack married Sue Bergeron in 1982. Two children were born to this union, Jack A., Jr. and Amanda Jean. Jack married Tami Herbert in 2015 and gained three step-children, Andrew, Nikki, and Christian.

Jack enjoyed playing the guitar and riding his Harley. As a child, while most kids slept with teddy bears, Jack would sleep with his trucks and motorcycles. He also had a wonderful sense of humor and was a great story teller.

Jack loved people. He had a big heart for helping others and dearly loved his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

Jack was preceded in death by his father, Larry Sprague, and by a cousin, Tommy Sprague.

He is survived by his wife, Tami Sprague, his mother, Emogene Sprague, his two children, Jack A Sprague, Jr. and Amanda Johnson, two brothers, Thomas Sprague and Larry Sprague Jr., three step-children, Andrew, Nikki, and Christian, two grandchildren and eleven step-grandchildren whom he adored, and other relatives and friends.
