Izaiah Royce Veasy, son of John Veasy and the late Elaine McDonald, was born February 14, 1980 in Ottawa, Illinois and departed this life March 17, 2018 with his brother, Daniel Veasy, by his side at their home in Mountain Grove, Missouri, following a courageous battle with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. He was 38 years of age.
Izaiah graduated from Cabool High School with the class of 1998. He then joined the United States Army where he proudly served his country starting in Ft. Jackson, South Carolina, then Ft. Hood, Texas, and Kuwait. He was honorably discharged after four years of service.
Izaiah had many joys in life including collecting comics and baseball cards. He liked hanging out with family. He especially cherished time spent with his daughter, Gabriella James.
Izaiah is survived by his brother, Daniel Veasy of Mountain Grove, one daughter, Gabriella James of Mount Vernon, Missouri, his father, John Veasy of Santa Rosa, California, maternal grandmother, Opal McDonald, paternal grandmother, Wanda Bishop, and many other relatives and friends who will miss him greatly.
Izaiah has been cremated and his family is planning a private memorial service for a later date. His cremated remains will be buried in the Louisville Cemetery in Louisville, Missouri.
