Howard Frederick Wilkins was born March 24, 1931, in Cadillac, Michigan, to Alfred Frederick Wilkins and Mathilde Ingaborg (Jorgensen) Wilkins, and he departed this life December 9, 2021, at his home near Seymour, Missouri.
Howard had made a profession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and faithfully attended Little Finley Bible Chapel, south of Seymour.
Howard faithfully served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War from April 16, 1952 - April 15, 1954.
Howard’s career spanned several fields, including serving our country in the United States Army in Korea, finance, and law enforcement, but his first love was always the family farm. He raised first dairy cattle, then later, registered Limousin cattle. He always had a herd of farm animals, including the famous Orie the donkey, who he raised in Wanda’s basement (against her will).
It was often said that if a cat had nine lives, Howard had ten. He survived numerous heart attacks, bovine attacks, a tractor rollover that left him pinned for hours, losing the tips of two fingers, and a variety of other ailments and accidents. None of this dampened his zest for life or his charm.
Howard was preceded in death by his mother and father, Alfred and Mathilde Wilkins, and five brothers and sisters, Fred Wilkins, Ruth Uverroth, Richard Raden, DeVere Raden, and Priscilla (Wilkins) Hampel.
Howard is survived by his wife of 46 years, Wanda Dean (Cole) Wilkins. He is also survived by his daughter, Tanda Patterson (Rick) and son, Daron Wilkins (Kimberly), all of Seymour, Michael Wilkins (Jean) of Colorado, Barb Losee, Tim Wilkins, Steve Wilkins, Deb Badgett all of Montana, Danny Wilkins of Nevada, Keith Ray Mackie, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
If you asked Howard how he was, he inevitably replied, “Flawless!” We know that now he is, indeed, flawless, in the presence of his Lord and Savior.
