Herbert Wayne Wade

Herbert Wayne Wade, age 85, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, passed away at 11:25 AM on Monday, February 29, 2016, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, after a short illness. He was born on November 10th, 1930, in Manes, Missouri to the late Herbert Elmore and Florence (Trumbo) Wade.
He was a lifelong resident of Mountain Grove and graduated from Mountain Grove High School. He was in the United States Marine Corps and served from October 1951 to October 1953. After returning from the service he worked at Brown Shoe Company and retired after 40 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to yard sales to buy fishing equipment, and spending time with his great-grandkids. If anyone ever asked him how he was doing he would say, finer than frog hair.
Herbert was united in marriage to Betty Jean Simpson on November 19th, 1954, and to this union two children were born: Vickie and Mike.
Besides his parents, Herbert was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; and his sister Lois Shannon.
He is survived by his daughter: Vickie Wall of Ava, Missouri; his son Mike Wade and his wife, Sue, of Springfield, Missouri; two grandchildren: Tiffany Hall and Damon Wade; five great-grandchildren: Dominic Rosen, Kenzi Wade, Piper Wade, Jonah Wade, and Xavier Wade; and his special neighbors: Donnie and Christi Crisp and their sons: Andon and Avery.


Visitation: Wednesday, March 2, 2016, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: Thursday, March 3, 2016, at 10:00 AM at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.

Burial: Hillcrest Cemetery
