Helen Pauline (Durham) (Blacketer) McCune, daughter of the late Walter and Mary Elizabeth (Ballinger) Durham, was born on March 16, 1923 in Bolivar, Missouri, and departed this life on December 28, 2014 at her home in Mountain Grove, Missouri. She was 91 years, 9 months, and 12 days of age.
She was united in marriage to Lenn Willard McCune on June 17, 1945. Helen was the loving mother of five children: Ray, Frankie, Gary, Virginia, and Linda.
Helen worked at Brown Shoe Company until she retired. She loved to make afghans and quilts and gave them to her family. Helen attended Hopewell Free Will Baptist Church.
Besides her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband: Lenn McCune in 1991; one daughter: Linda Hulme; three sisters; six brothers; one granddaughter: Debra Blacketer; one grandson: Robert Mabe; and one son-in-law: Dick Mabe.
Helen is survived by three sons: Ray Blacketer of Mountain Grove, Missouri, Frankie McCune and his wife, Doris, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, and Gary McCune and his wife, Rayme, of Jefferson City, Missouri; one daughter: Virginia Mabe of Mountain Grove, Missouri; two sisters: Marcella Anderson of California, and Lois Orrell and her husband, Charles, of Collins, Missouri; eleven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren; and many other family and friends.
Visitation: Tuesday, December 30, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.
Burial: Greenwood Cemetery.
